This video demonstrates the port of a ROS node to the Android platform, and a scenario for interaction and control of intelligent environments using ROS. Further activities related to ROS at
VMI you can find here.
The Cognitive Environment
This is an overview of the features the Cognitive Environment developed at this Institute. The objects you can see here are the Cognitive Office (available
here) and the PR2 (Personal Robot 2, by Willowgarage) using the Robot Operating System (ROS) for interaction.
The Cognitive Cup
More and more objects are getting "smart". As an example prototype a Cognitive Cup makes part of the Internet of Things was developed. The cup can communicate wireless
with a host controller and feed its information into our middleware. (Built out of a student project, acknowledgement to Felix Greimel)
The Whiteboard Cleaning Robot
The smart environments are getting smarter and also assistive technologies helping people doing their tasks are increasing. The idea here is, that a whiteboard could be
cleaned by night or if the person leaves the room and a snapshot of the board is stored in a database. So you always get a clean whiteboard.

VMI Fit
Mobilephones are with us every day. For research purposes in skill assessment and Android development we developed an Android application for recording the movement of a mobilephone
providing data to detect movement features. The videos shows how the usage of the application is intended: Here we're using a device from the company TheraBand to assist people
in their training period.
Mobile Didactics
The Mobile Didactics project (Hochschuldidaktik Mobile) aims at providing a mobile catalog of didactic methods that can be used for preparing and structuring university courses and lectures, inspiration,
exchange with other lecturers etc. aside the workplace, with the goal to improve the quality of university education. The video illustrates a smartphone and tablet PC app in an early development stage.
